Something seems to be missing from the Finder window when you are using Lion, and that is a curious thing. However, it is not a permanent situation; it is just that the new default setting for the status bar is for it to be disabled. The status bar can be enabled any time you want some of the items, which are on it, to be shown. The default setting can be changed if you want, by going to the View menu and taking the setting of the Status Bar and changing it. The default doesn’t need to be used, and therefore it can be shown rather than hidden.
Before the new Mac OS X Lion, it could be annoying to see the indicator lights on that showed that an app was open. Now, however, the Dock offers features that make working more convenient as well as easier. And if you want to easily disable those indicator lights, you now have that ability. It’s easy to do through System Preferences. Just go there and choose the selection appropriate to what you want to do. The indicator lights can then be disabled by going to Dock and making the choice you prefer.
It is terribly annoying, no matter what operating system you are using, when you finish a download and it gets lost. Finding where your download is at, is not always easy, unless you have noted where it is at before the windows are all closed. You can get to your download folder using a shortcut from the keyboard in the Mac OS. The Command Option L, which is in the Finder, will let you get to the information you have in your downloads folder. The download folder can be accessed in ways that should be remembered because there are several. Whatever is your favorite method can be used, and even this tip.
A big benefit of having a computer is being able to organize all of your data into the files and folders that you want in a way you can understand. Taking the time to learn how to do this is well worth the effort. It will be easy to find even more tips and guidelines on the Mac OS if you do a little searching.
